For the second year in a row, Sustainable Development
Week was held from June 16 to 27, 2004. It is a nationwide initiative coordinated
by the Ministry of Ecology and Sustainable Development aiming to promote the general
public's awareness of the need to reconcile the economic, ecological and social
aspects of business.
Altis participated in this event by signing the Charter of the Fonds Français pour la Nature et l’Environnement, a recognized public service organization, on the recycling of used batteries on June 21.
This Charter was signed to ratify a measure implemented on the site in the spring of 2001 which led to the installation of a dozen special bins in all site buildings. It also served as a reminder that an estimated 70% of used batteries end up in dumps or are incinerated with household waste
